A camera covering an open floor area a few metres away performs very differently from one mounted high across a cluttered store. Overnight detection additionally depends on the camera's infrared or low-light capability and on the animal being close enough to resolve in monochrome infrared. Can it detect cockroaches or flies?

No — not reliably, and we won't claim it.
